Active recovery is full of fun and bonding when we opt into family activities. Here our some of our favorites.
Active Recovery
Scavenger hunt outdoors looking for:
- three animals or animal sounds
- three colors
- two types of leaves
- a nut or seed
- evidence of water – dew, wet soil, rain drops, puddles
- something in bloom
Perform 10 jumping jacks every time an item is checked off the list.
Indoor scavenger hunt:
-
3 items to donate
-
2 games to play together as a family
-
pen and paper to write a note to a friend or family member
-
quick clean of all items of bedroom floor
-
a book to read before bed
-
a favorite snack
Perform 10 jumping jacks after each item is complete.
Other options include: a long walk, gentle stretching, family bike ride – pick a gentle activity that will soothe the muscles and feel rejuvenating. Get outside if at all possible to enjoy the connection of nature, family, and movement.
